Well, talk about one hell of a year.

Hope everyone's holding up ok.  Not gonna go into the Hell I've been through in the last year, let alone everything that's going on Right Now ....here in the US.  

Personally, I get through it all one bowl at a time, 4 bowls in the span of....30 minutes maybe?  Yeah, that's a lot of weed.

Which leads to what's going on, and why I'm actually posting (whether anyone's gonna read it or not, I'll see by the amounts of new likes on the page after this post.)

During a weed fueled, failed attempt at meditation, this picture popped into my head, and the name "Chaos Witch" soon became an obsession like no other.  I quickly sent my editor, now cowriter on this thing, Kendra Hale, a text concerning this new idea that I envisioned as an Anime type book.  Anime's not really my thing, and she Jumped at the chance to write it.  I didn't even know what the story was yet, and she fuckin JUMPED at the chance to write this thing, frankly cuz she believes me.  You don't take something like that lightly, and I sure as hell haven't.

So, what started out as something I was just gonna sit back and watch grow, quickly became something I had to be more involved with than I ever thought I would.
"Ok, I'm just gonna do her."
"Shit, I suddenly realise I have to design all these other characters, because now I'm penciling the Preview Book."
"Let's try to keep it under 20 pages."
"Ok, what the fuck, if you need to go 32 Pages for the preview, then by all means."

Trust me, a lot has happened with this thing in less than 3 months.  I've put all my other projects on hold for the time being, just so I can work on this with every chance that I get.  Hopefully in the coming weeks, after the New Years, I'll be able to do a lot more for it than just the occasional character design.  I've got an entire world to create and design here, with a while bunch of characters that you're gonna grow to love, others you'll absolutely Despise, and a whole ton of action that I can't wait to sink her staff into.

There's always a reason for everything I do...

Howdy all.  Anyone who winds up reading this, no....I'm not Dead.  It's been a seriously fucked up year.  But, no matter how difficult things have gotten in life, I still managed to finish inking all 15 pages for the #strangebrewcomic Ashcan book that I wrote and penciled too.  You can find the Facebook page using the hashtag there, or follow me @bctiki77 on Instagram.  I've been posting all my W.IP.'s and shit over there.  Won't be posting anything new up here until I can get the pages scanned in, but in the meantime, I'm already underway with working on the next issue of Strange Brew.  

Eventually I'll be posting here more often, but until then, I am looking for a colorist for the Ashcan, if anyone knows someone...we'll talk.  Or not.....

Surprise, Surprise......I'm still alive.  Yeah, I haven't posted much, and it'll be a while before I do any consistent posting, but I do what I can when I can.

So here's the deal.  Think I posted about this in the last Journal entry, but seriously, who even bothered to read it?  I'm working on a couple of projects right now, just as a writer and character designer...not so much as an artist/inker for these.  With the Inking work I'm currently waiting on, I really can't do much more than what I'm already doing.  So with that said, I'm currently on the lookout for some artists to bring these projects to life with me.

First Up: Strange Brew www.facebook.com/pages/Strange….  It's an ongoing series I've been developing for many years now, and had a writer/co-writer involved, as well as an artist that I was going to be inking.  However, both had to bail due to personal problems.  The first issue was already written up and sent to the artist, but things just never happened.  So now, I'm stuck having to take over the writing chores, and possibly the inking chores as well, but we'll see. 
The plan is to have 1 person on the regular series, but I've also got 5 other books that act as Prequels for the series.  Basically 5 different 1 shots, running 32 pages each,  with each one focusing on the backstory for 1 of the 5 girls who are the lead characters of the series.  I have the first 32 pager written up, as well as a 15 page Ashcan book that I wrote up, and depending on how things go...may just pencil and ink it myself.  Don't know yet.

The Other project is something I've been thinking about for many years, but not nearly as long as Strange Brew.  It encompasses 2 things I love....Tiki's, and Halloween.  It's intended mostly for Children of all ages...to a point, and is planned to be a 4 issue Mini-series, with the Possibility of the series turning into a Cartoon series, but hopefully just a single Movie.  So I'm basically looking for an artist who can handle an animated style.  I'm in the early stages of character designs...many of them are based loosely on friends of mine in the Tiki Community.  I'm looking to an art book for it before the series gets underway.  Something I can sell at various events I plan to attend in the coming year, try to build up the fan base for the project....show the Potential Production company(s) that there's a Viable fan base for it....and Not just kid Fans, but adults too...in which case, I've got people on Facebook...people who aren't even friends of mine there, who chimed in wanting a copy for themselves.

There is another project in the same vain, but more Super-hero-espue, but I'm holding off on that one for the time being.  See how the first one does before I go deeper into that Project.

I may have a publisher already lined up for them both, we'll see how the Inking work I'm supposed to be doing shortly goes.  It's very Small Press to start with, so the only major issue is that there's No Pay Upfront, nothing that I will make a promise too just yet.  And since I don't believe in Back end deals...I'm not gonna promise anything regarding that.  I really don't know what's going to happen with these.  If I can get them done through another publisher, then who knows.  I'm not making any promises that I know damn well I can't keep.  You either want in, or you don't.  I'm sure I'm probably going about this all wrong, but hey...I doubt anyone's even reading this, and I damn well know that no one's gonna bother hitting me about it with samples to their work.  And if all else fails, I'll do the whole "Kick Starter" thing, see if I can't raise the money to not only publish...but pay those involved when the time comes.

     I'm just gonna go out on a limb here folks, and say that: To all my watchers new and old, To my friends all over the world, and to my Fellow D.O.G's out there,  I'm currently looking for some artists to help me finally get my projects off the ground.  Recently, both my Artist and Co-writer each had to bail from working on my series "Strange Brew", so now I  gotta take over the writing myself.  I've already written up an Ashcan issue, which I intend to Pencil and Ink myself, as well as a 32 page Background story for one of the main Characters in the series.

     What I'm looking for is rather simple, and I hope it's portrayed here as such.  I'm looking for a total of 6 Artists for this project.  1 will handle the on going series, the others will do the Single Issue (32 pages each) Background story's for the 5 main characters of the book.  Yeah, I know....I'm askin a Whole Lot from people, but hey....I'm doin the Majority of the work already.  What's the Catch you might ask??  Well, I can't pay for the work right now.  Yeah, I know, it sucks.  I am planning on submitting this and the other projects I have to various Publishers in the hopes of someone picking it up.  Then there's always the Kickstarter Method, which I'll see about.  But ultimately, I may have a publisher lined up, one I'm supposed to be doing some Ink work for anyway, but we'll see how that all Pans out in the near future.

     I've also got another idea for a Completely different Project.  This one I got hit up about by said Publisher mentioned above.  It'll be a total collaboration effort, and need to have a "cartoony" look to the pages.  Said Publisher has an "In" with a cartoon production company, and hit me up about possibly getting one or more of my projects turned into a cartoon, yet the majority of my current projects...well.....you wouldn't want your Kids watching a Saturday morning cartoon with any of those characters.  Trust me.  Brandee Tabor[icon:WilliamG4] can attest to that.  So after thinking long and hard about it, this one would be a Miniseries, 4-6 issues long at least, just to show the producers that the Idea is Valid and Viable as a Cartoon.  I've already got people ready to lay down their money to buy each issue...several Copy's at least...And now, I've just gotta give them a product they'd want even more.

      So that's it.  I'm sure I won't get very far with this, as I know everyone wants to get paid, no matter what.  But I had to at least try, get the word out there that Someone's looking to give fellow artists a chance to do something Unique, something Special.  IF anyone actually reading this far, knows someone who MIGHT be interested, please feel free to send them my way.  Share this Journal with them.  Share the Link to the "Strange Brew" Facebook page with them.  Hell, I've got Plenty other projects aside from these that are currently on the backburner for the time being.
